Hey guys,

Did a search, and couldn't find anything on this year's festivals, so thought I'd start a thread.

Anyone going this year? I bought my ticket on the pre-release after last year's festival seeing as I didn't get chance to get to that one :(

What are people's Main Stage Headliner Predictions? Seeing as it's practically the only big festival yet to be announced, could be interesting.

Well, there's been some progression as of late, with all kinds of new bands popping up as possible headliners now.
So everyone is aware, the Reading/Leeds 2010 announcement is at 6:45pm on Monday 29th March. I imagine it'll be on Radio 1 or something.

Look out for rumour updates on: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/reading/2010/lineup.shtml

I've heard that it's looking to be:
The Libertines (Seem to have popped out of no-where)
Blink-182 (Always been a dead cert really)
Guns N' Roses (Outsider at first, but looks pretty likely now, this would make my life).

What do you think?

Hope to see you there!

Went in 08 and 09 but this year the lineup looks horrific, download have nabbed anyone worth seeing since it's their 30 year anniversary.

The rumors so far are;
Green Day :(
Blink 182 :(
MCR
Arcade fire (what even is that?)
The Maccabees
Julian Casablancas ????
Hole ???
All time low ???
Cancer beats ???
Biffy Clyro :) Ultimate win
Freebass ???
and weirdly enough soundgarden.... but I doubt that.

Thats courtesy of E festivals who have bin more or less spot on for the last two years.

Wishful thinking on GnR, if they were there I'd consider wading through all the crap just to watch them, biffy and soundgarden (although I think they'll probably do download)

The T in the Park lineup is also beyond awesome this year so I bet they've snagged a few acts from Leeds/Reading

Arcade Fire are a phenomenal band, especially live. they have upwards of 7 members in the live sets inwhich they switch instruments throughout songs. big fan of thiers. a simple regular folk opinion would be 'they are indie weirdo's with fruity music.'

if they play this year at Leeds they could very well be my sole reason for going, well along with the campsite antics :D

Yeah, I agree with you mate, I'm not jumping in joy at the rumoured acts yet. However, Rage and Aerosmith were practically out of the blue for Download, so I'm hoping the same will happen at Reading this year. Download is definitely the place to be, just disappointed I can't go, ah well, I got tickets to Rage's free gig ;)

I'm hoping on GnR, they would be amazing! Especially on the Sunday! Still not sure about other acts though. Lot of people seem convinced at Blink, but I'm still a bit sceptical, not so sure :/

EDIT: Also don't think Soundgarden will do Download though, as Download has got a lot of big acts already, and doesn't really have much room for them. Plus I heard that they won't come back to Europe until next year. Dunno though

Some people will probably love it, but it's deffo download for me this year. I don't think I could swing going to Leeds again this year anyway, August bank is the busiest day of the year where I work and I've already had two in a row off lol.

If GnR were there though I'd be in the market for a day ticket

Reading has been pretty poor compared to Download for a while now imo. Personally I'm going to go to Infest if it's on this year, doubt many have heard of that though.

If Arcade Fire are somewhere in the line up it'll be well worth going. They were incredible in 2007, made the Chili's look like amateurs that night. The sing along to Wake Up is my most memorable festival moment.

To be honest, I think I'm just bored of speculation, most other festivals have been announced, so I just want to know now! Will be interesting to see who it is, as i'd say all 3 headliner slots are still completely up in the air :)

Another update on OP guys.
Other bands that have emerged that could make an appearance at the festival:

Queens of the Stone Age?
Paramore?
A Day To Remember?
All Time Low?
The Quails?

Thoughts anyone?
