Reading Linux EXT4 on Windows 11

I am looking to copy over a load of files from my PC to my Steamdeck SD Card but the Steamdeck formats the SD as EXT4. Can anyone recommend any free software that i can use for windows to read and write to the card if i install into the system via card reader?

I think you can now mount them without additional 3rd party software using WSL 2 (windows subsystem for linux)

Windows 10 now lets you mount Linux ext4 filesystems in WSL 2

Windows 10 now allows you to mount physical disks formatted using the Linux ext4 filesystem in the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2.

Access Linux filesystems in Windows and WSL 2

Starting with Windows Insiders preview build 20211, WSL 2 will be offering a new feature: wsl --mount. This new parameter allows a physical disk to be attached and mounted inside WSL 2, which enables you to access filesystems that aren’t natively supported by Windows (such as ext4).

Great Thanks, i have been told that a program called winpinator can be installed on the deck and in windows and that will do a similar thing but over the network.

Another option is to temporarily enable SSH access on your Steam Deck, and then you can use SCP to transfer files over the network.

I am a complete Linux Noob so unfortunately i wouldnt know how to enable ssh on the steamdeck unless its in the options.

What about using a Linux live disk?

Create a Ubuntu usb stick.

Boot from it with out install (live disk)

Plug in the device and you might be able to drag and drop

However now days I think wsl would be the way to go.
