Reading Mac files in Windows

Hey guys,

I've been given a usb drive with about a 100 or so mixed files on it by a mate but I can't read it because they were put there via a Mac...

The files are not Mac specific, so is there any freeware I can use that would allow me to access them in XP/Vista? Every time I attach the drive (Vista) wants to format it for me

If you want the USB pen to work on mac + windows then it needs to be formatted as FAT32 or NTFS with a special app on OSX so it can read/write to NTFS drives.

If the drive is HFS+ then I don't think windows can read it? Not 100% sure on that though as I keep all my drives NTFS with an app on OSX so I can write to them.

I've used HFSExplorer with good results before.
