Reading to Leatherhead

Choices are M4/M25 or else some back route through Bracknell, A322 to Guildford way and then A246 round to Leatherhead I guess. The motorway is likely to be quicker, even in rush hour I should think as once on the M25 you're going in the direction of less traffic generally as you move away from Heathrow. No idea on the time, but I used to do the M25 in the same direction from the A3 to the Redhill turnoff and that stretch of motorway could be done in 20 minutes at peak times.

I usually do this once a month but at probably completely different times but the route that's clearest for me is; M4-A329/322-M3-M25 and vice-versa.
Bear in mind I normally do the journey to/past Reading at 9pm and towards Leatherhead at around 5pm and traffic is generally flowing well for 90% of the journey on the Reading>Leatherhead one, Leatherhead>Reading is obviously empty (unless it happens to snow..a lot). Not sure if that's of any use to you becasue of the times but its a route to consider I guess?
