I haven't really been paying attention to the pc scene since I built my last pc around 4 years ago but feel it's time for something new especially as I think my graphics card is on it's last legs.

What I'm after is something that will at the very least play the latest games maxed out, but hopefully will be able to get something that's a little future proof as well. I've been looking at the pre-built systems on ocuk but really have no idea what's what anymore so was wondering if anyone could give any recommendations. My budget is around £500-800 but can go up if needed if people think it's necessary considering what I'm after. Also would it be significantly cheaper or better to buy things seperately and build it myself? I've done it before but would rather not have to unless it was really worth it. I'll need everything apart from a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about how good intel motherboards are, but if you want an awesome system that is futureproof, you should be able to get a core i5, ATI 5850 and the associated bits for that kind of budget.

Personally, i find my nVidia GTX260 is more than enough to run all my games at very reasonable settings. (Fallout 3 @ 1680x1050, 4xAA, 8xAF, vsync, HDR, all sliders for visual distance and stuff at max... Dragon Age: Origins: Everything set to high, 4xAA.)

My CPU details are in my sig, AMD PII X3 720 BE @ 3.5Ghz, 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz.

Nothing wrong with going either way. If you overclock, you'll most likely get more out of a Core i5 though.

buy serperately and build it yourself , not only is it cheaper but u will come to terms with all the parts and will be able to easily upgrade in the future.
