Hi all,

I am treating myself for my 30th to a new pc, I only need the base unit as I have everything els I need and will be running on a 1080p 144hz monitor.

I would like a new ryzen chip if possible with ram to suit, the pc will be only used for gaming and wouldn't need any more than 1tb of storage, even that may be overkill for my needs but I would like fast storage for game loading times.

Also I'm new to pc building so bare with me.

Budget it 1000-1200

Cheers guys.

Thanks for the input! As for it being overkill I don't mind too much as I would rather have to upgrade later rather than sooner to be honest, and sorry I also forgot to mention I won't need windows.

Also with having the 144hz monitor already I would like to have 144fps and over whenever possible

Stick with the 2060 Super.. it's 2070 performance which will give you 144fps !

If you've got the extra cash 2070 super will last longer.
Either way the above will rock!

Intel is technically better at 1080p due to core speed .

Pushing max speed ! Set MCE one for 4.8ghz all core boost

Thanks for the input!

One of the reasons I was looking more towards ryzen was because of future upgrades, I heard they are going to keep the same socket for a few years so if an upgrade is likely within that time then I won't have to pay out for another motherboard also.

Do you think I would be best sticking to the 2060 super and maybe getting a slightly better cpu with the money saved or is there nothing better I could get with the money saved?

Sorry I'm new to building pc's so I'm not acting dumb on purpose

Yea I think I will be going amd personally, I no Intel is going to be a little better for gaming but as I said I have more chance of upgrading in the future without the need of another motherboard, plus I like what amd are doing lately shaking up the market and I always like to support the little guy when I can because the more support they get eventually the better things will get for the consumer in terms of price and performance when two company's compete for the number 1 spot.

Thanks for all the input guys it's helped me out a lot.
