Hi everyone,

I m just about to get ready to buy, either tonight or tomz. I have selected the following components. My goal is to have a very nice pc for both work and some serious gaming. From my previous pc I can salvage a Corsair 650W but not sure if thats enough, I also need a case but not sure which one to go for, I like them to be spacious, with no fancy lights, and very easy to work with. I m also wondering about the 5850 compared to a 5870, is the £100 worth the change in performance.
My total budget is around £1000-£1200.

Thanks everyone for any imput.

Would be a really nice rig mate. :D The 4.0 ghz OC is not really required IMO you wont notice any difference in games only Hardcore encoding and the temps with the noctua get pretty toasty at 4.0 ghz load. Don't worry about the PSU that'l be fine mate, OC's use them in their i7 OC builds.

Enjoy.

EDIT: You didnt spec a case. Would be a shame to see all those lovely components in an old case. I would reccomond this.

Thanks for that, I was concidering this case and also the antec 1200. Not sure if its worth going for the 1200 has i heard a lot of good things about the 902. I was also wondering if the 5870 was that much better than the 2850 (worth £100?). Thanks for your quick response shawreyboy

hi, to be fair if youre on a budget Id just stick with the 5850, re 902 vs 1200 theyre both great cases for air cooling, the 1200 is higher and as such you'd have more room to work in, also the new ATI cards are quite long which restricts use of hdd caddies, given this it would probably be worth the 1200
