thanks in advance guys :)

Please, dear God, get a better case than that! :p

For slightly less money you could have the Lian-Li PC-7. For £18 more you could have a really nice P182.

I'd skip the sound card. That one won't be much better than the onboard Intel HD audio and it will save you the Creative-related driver hassles associated with 4+ GiB RAM.

what sound card should i go with then? but im on a tight budget and i really cant be spending anything else

and the case i like the look of it the neons look cool

Why not stick with the onboard sound?

isnt it ment to be crap? i mean really crap

i have a decent surround sound system (JVC GATE TH-L1 and ASTRO A40 headset with mix/amp) so i need something to complement these ino im not gunna get awesome sound form a 30quid card but its gotta be miles better than onboard tho ye?

I would put in a bit more money for a proper X-fi extreme music or gamer unless you really don't have the PCI slot if you decide to stick with X-fi.

Onboard sound used to be really crap but nowadays there really isn't any difference apart from Hardware EAX/Openal support for games.

I'd prefer Lian Li and Antec cases as well but it's a matter of opinion.

Also I can't really justify spending £20 on a mousemat tbh but again, if it makes a different to you..

nah mouse mat isnt that important but a good surface to game on would be cool, and the pci slot on my mobo is taken up by my gfx card

talking of which opinions please -

OcUK 8800GTS 640MB (£177)

or

ASUS 8800GT 512MB (£165)

which 1?

if 'ye' means yes

then

'ne' surely meant no.

you question was "so i need something to complement these ino im not gunna get awesome sound form a 30quid card but its gotta be miles better than onboard tho ye?"

the answer was No

To compare to something else, it's like spending £20 on a PCI RAID controller, instead of using the onbaord one. It's still the same quality of raid - if you're ok with losing a few CPU clocks.

Love

Andrew.
