Anyone know how this works? Does it keep a pagefile or part of on the usb key?

Could that work with XP by using say a 2Gb or 4GB usb key in the back usb slot and moving your pagefile to this key? Would have to be usb 2 I guess and you couldnt remove it... Would you see a performance boost? How about in games?

What about a pagefile on a raptor Vs usb 2.0 (ddr2) Key 2Gb/4GB.

I appreciate that the max single pagefile size for XP is 4096MB or 1.5x Actual Memory size for lowerlimit and lowerlimit x 1.5 for upperlimit.

Has anyone tried this?

USB2 and DDR2 are completely different. ReadyBoost isn't really like a pagefile. It's more a cache of the most commonly used programs/files and is constantly changing based on your usage. I don't think you can move a page file to a removable drive and even if it lets you probably isn't a good idea.

Sorry I was refering to usb keys which use DDR2 memory. I checked your right about removeable drives and pagefiles, but it can be done.

USB keys dont use DDR2 memory. DDR memory is volitile. Flash memory, that is used in USB keys, isnt.
