I've just been reading about how ReadyBoost can help in computers with lowish amounts of Ram. My sisters laptop only has 1 Gig ram running Vista home prem, and when idle it's using about 650-750MB.
My Question is does ReadyBoost work with any flash memory or SD card ? or does the flash memory/SD card has to certain attributes for it to work ?

Appreciate any info

ReadyBoost requires certain speeds out of USB flash drives. So, you need to look for a USB flash drive that says it's ReadyBoost enabled. :).

It will, however help a lot with your sister's laptop seeing as it has low memory and a slower hard drive. ReadyBoost adds extra cache to your PC. Therefore, speeding up all your applications! :D

it will speed it up but the actual performance is negligible in my eyes, your talking about 1% if even that, think about how small the files are that are loaded into this cache, its not worth spending the money on, you would see a much bigger boost from overclocking, or a new hard drive with faster rpm and more cache on the actual hard drive

Well, except with a decent sized (1gb+) flash drive, what you've said is not true at all. Readyboosts main benefit is storing additional superfetch data in an easy to access format, and superfetch does provide a good real world improvement for most users.

Readyboost is only really worth if if you are running with only 512Mb of system RAM. How many people only use 512 of RAM these days?
