Uncles bday saturday and i wont to buy him some ale that he hasnt tasted before. So not your typical supermarket stuff as hes more than likely tried it, can one of you alcholics recommend a site and some real ales to try plz:)

gogo CAMRA! :D Is there a particular kind of ale he likes? Dark, Light, Porter, Stout, Fruity, Sweet etc etc?

You mean English ale rather than continental beer, right?

I don't really drink the stuff anymore but I used to really like Spitfire or Bishops Finger. They both seem terribly weak to me now.

idk what their delivery is like, because you've left it quite late :p
Usually pretty good, even in the run up to Christmas they could get stuff out the door either same day or next day. The delivery itself isn't guaranteed next day but again it's hardly slow in my experience. Still £7.95 regardless of quantity too.

One of the following -

Wychcraft
Adnams broadside (available on tap but is possible one of the nicest around)
Tanglefoot

Or anything else in a box. Fullers have these boxed Ales in Waitrose. There was only 150000 bottles produced so could become a collectable. Not massivley expensive either.

EDIT: Ahh just saw you ordered stuff. Black Beauty is a gorgeous Ale, he'll love it

its a good selection, I've had a few of them at various beer festivals. Might put an order in myself. Black Beauty perticuly stands out in my memory if you like a dark porter!

I had some chocolate drop the other night, was not great. Did taste remotely like chocolate though

I've been really let down by many "chocolate beers". Can't even remember the names as they were nothing special at all, which is a shame.
