Just had the chance to upgrade to a used 680 from a 760 and had a fear of my PSU not being enough (430W Corsair)
To my surprise the whole system consumes around 270-280W during furmark!!!

Why do manufacturers and users always suggest high power PSUS?
Am I risking something here?

Safe margin, also they don't know your system configuration, plus cheap PSU brands shows that they are 500W or more on the label but in fact they are not.

With good PSUs you don't need to worry, you will be OK with your PSU.

One more thing, you system is drawing 280W on furmark, that means your CPU is almost not in use, so if load you whole system it will be more than 300W.

I also tested the system during Metro Last Light and consumption was even lower by a small margin.
To be honest I dont use any power hungry element apart from the 680.

Should I worry about the Corsair CX 430 w?
