Hey,

Does anyone know of any real high resolution monitors on the horizon?

I don't mean 2560x1440 on 27".

They are putting 3200x1800 on a 13" laptop screen in the Yoga 2 Pro. It seems ridiculous that you can't find any higher than 2560x1440 on a readily available PC monitor when they can put these on 13" laptops and 10" tablets.

The other half of the question would be, even 2560x1440, can you find it on a screen smaller than 27"?

the higher resolutions are starting to appear on bigger screens now. There's already been the 3840 x 2160 res 31.5" models released like the Asus PQ321QE and forthcoming Dell UP3214Q. Canon have a niche reference monitor available, which is 4096 x 2560 and 30" in size, the DP-V3010. LG.Display also have a 4096 x 2160 IPS panel in production which is 31" in size.

so plenty of development in the 30 - 31.5" sector at the moment.

I also expect we will see a 24" panel from the Dell UP2414Q at some point in the new year, which by the naming scheme should have a 4k resolution of some sort. That would be the first mainstream 24" with higher resolution and i expect other manufacturers may well follow suit
