Real Madrid eliminated from Copa Del Rey for fielding suspended player

Surely, surely this can't be Rafa's fault? All the staff that work in football clubs surely administrate this kind of thing?

I couldn't get away with it on Football Manager!
 
Thing is, Rafa has history. He was manager of Valencia when they got kicked out a few years ago for the same thing but yes, I agree, the office team should know all this but Real have said they were never advised.
 
Don't you have to submit team sheets before matches? Wouldn't a Spanish FA official be like 'errr, you cant play this guy, hes suspended'

I find it really strange how this can just happen.
 
If Real got booted for this, why didn't Zagreb got booted or the result overturned when one of their players failed drug tests against Arsenal?
 
oh well... odds for yet another Barcelona v Athletic Bilbao just went up again then. Lets hope it will be as good as this years Supercopa.
