All these amateurs who go to pre-built off-road tracks to drive their "4x4's" and act like men. They need to take a leaf out of this chaps book...

Just took these after Oblivious bullied me into doing so. This junction is at the end of my road, they are actually widening it at the moment, hence all of the cones.

My reckoning is he drove from the right (looking at the third pic) and between the curb and the long plastic bollards thinking that was the road, however it's not. It's a 1-1.5m trench where they are replacing a water main that was ruptured by the building work.

YOU CAN't WITH A NISSAN :p

Do these fancy new cars not have a reverse gear then?

Probably could reverse out but:

1. They probably going to sue for 'roadworks in the road' and they need to take pictures.

2. This is a deviation too far from 'the school run' Therefore cannot comprehend.Brain malfunction. zzzzttt wheee pop.

haha, i know the area well. seems that it's been roadworks since god was boy.
Really, where are you from?

The roadworks started last November, they were due to finish in May but I received a letter saying that the contractor had not bothered to do any work so it will over-run by 2months and finish the end of July.

It's a pain having to queue up to get to the end of my road!

Good point.
I see three wheels with contact, surely reversing out wouldn't be too hard?

She(maybe he) just wanted to take photos for poos and giggles later on.. then drove off and put photos on the internetz

doubtful a "4x4" like that one would have a locked diff, probably not even a limited slip diff... not sure

Most probably tho the wheel in the air would receive all the drive as its the easiest to turn, and the wheels that are grounded wouldn't get much drive at all, least not enough to pull it out maybe...

The Nissan Patrol does have a diff lock (the older ones do anyway)the Patrol is a very good proper off roader comparable to a Land Crusier/Range Rover not a X5/XC90, would get out of there easily select low range, lock the diffs and reverse out. Damage looks pretty low as well probaly just a marked front bumper.

well in that case the diffs will probably need to be manually locked (hubcap lockers?) or one can only assume the owner doesnt know what their vehicle is capable of

(but lets be sensible. Comparable to a range rover? hehehe!)

It's a Nissan Patrol. It's 4x4 ability is such that the UN use them for peacekeeping missions.

It can get out of a hole if the driver isnt a halfwit.
