REAL Off-Roading...

well in that case the diffs will probably need to be manually locked (hubcap lockers?) or one can only assume the owner doesnt know what their vehicle is capable of

(but lets be sensible. Comparable to a range rover? hehehe!)

They would be electronic diff locks, when I say comparable to a Range Rover I mean on off road ability if you head to the outback in Australia you will only see Land Crusiers, Nissan Patrols and if you are posh Range Rovers the rest simply aren't good enough to be reliable in the tough conditions.

It's a Nissan Patrol. It's 4x4 ability is such that the UN use them for peacekeeping missions.

It can get out of a hole if the driver isnt a halfwit.

Hence my above post. I'm not too hot on the Nissan range tbh, but from experience would rank land rover and mistubishi as more competent off roaders regardless of what fiscal breaks the UN gets through buying them

When I drove past around 30mins before I popped back to take these pics there was a guy next to the 4x4 pacing up and down on his mobile. He did look like a gimp so I assume he wasn't aware he could get the vehicle out of the hole.

Ummm how does that work then? :p

cos they're the best 4x4xfar? :p

Or maybe because i have been attending, pit crewing and competing in offroad trialling, comp safari and hillrallies for the past 20 years (when leaf spring and live axle were king), and as such its the LRs/RRs and Pajeros (and other Mitsis) and even land cruisers that have consistently, over the years, been the vehicles which people deem to be the most competitive offroad?

More lately, for the hillrallies, spaceframes with bespoke designs and top-level equipment are becoming king in the top classes, but anything below that will be 85% LR/RR or Mitsubishi based.
