Real + Quick Alternative lite

Sounds good bledd. So are these ready to integrate or do we have to make the installs ourselves?

A bit off topic but I had been struggling to get nLite to work for me once I had burned the image to disc. When I restarted my PC the machine just wouldn't pick the disc up and let me install Windows. I was using CDBurner XP which must have been messing up the bootable CD settings on the ISO. I was looking up some advice on the MSFN nLite site when I saw something you said about using ImgBurn. Downloaded that and installed it, burned the image and hallelujah the PC picked it up. :D At long ruddy last. :o

cdburnerxp pro probably has a 'burn image' tool with it

i never use nero or anything, i just right click folder, makeISO, then use imgburn, so i don't have to install anything on my pc to burn things :)

use msfn's unattended guide (at msfn.org) to find out how to use $OEM$ folders

nlite creates them one anyway with a cmdlines.txt in it

Hmm just checked and CDBurner XP has a Write Disc from ISO command. Might be that. Anyway don't care, it may or may not work; ImgBurn definitely does. Will check out the $OEM$ folder stuff.

Thanks again.

This the one? So I need an $OEM$ folder which I make myself in the folder nLite makes? And then dump the files I want installed in there and knock up a cmdlines.txt?

thats right mate :)

edit..

the VERYSILENT would be inside the "" 's
Cheers so it would be REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\realatl.exe /VERY SILENT".

Sorry for not spotting you had replied. I didn't get an email notification. So how do I get the program to install where I want it to? Say I want Real Alternative to install to C:\Program Files\Real Alternative how would I do that? Add another switch after /VERY SILENT such as /VERY SILENT /INSTALL="C:\Program Files\Real Alternative"?

Sorry for asking these questions but I find some stuff I need on the Internet but then I have another question and can't find the answer, you on the other hand have a habit of answering my questions for me first time round. Have an e-cookie. ;)

lol no problem :), took a lot of reading to find it all out!

it'll install to the default location (so wherever your program files is kept)

most unattended switches work this way -default installation procedure.

i really don't mind you asking me, i check this forum often enough too

Just checked my nLite folder and it turns out I have some spreadsheet that writes an RunOnceEx script to .cmd form for me. Can I use this? It seems all I have to do is list the install.exe, its intended location and the switches, fiddle with some buttons and the spreadsheet creates a .cmd script for me. Sounds cool.
