Really quick one guys, at work, having a bit of a school boy. a lot on my plate, so will let you lot do my job for me.

One of the scanners has emailed a user 4 x .DAT files which are named 1_4, 2_4 ect ect.

He scanned the documents in to make a pdf file. It was well over 60 pages so my assumption is the scanner has automatically shopped the pdf up and placed them in 4 bite size .DAT files...

Now, I thought it would be a case of simply 'unrarring' of sort... But nope.

Any idea how I can compile these bad boys to get the pdf?

Cheers!

I don't know about recompiling them but I would suggest looking for a setting that says something about splitting files over "insert file size here"MB.

I found this:

1. Concatenate the .dat files into a single .dat file. The "cat" (Macintosh) or "copy" (Windows) instructions can do this easily for you.

2. Drop the single .dat created onto Stuffit Expander. Out comes the .pdf file you want + comments in a separate file. Note that on Windows XP, I had to use an older version of Stuffit Expander. Apparently the last Stuffit Deluxe (v11) does not include (yet/anymore?) the free Expander program apparently.

But would probably try to change the settings even if this works, to avoid future problems.
