Realbench question?

I am trying to undervolt my cpu and i am using realbench as a stress test. Im not sure why but when i run a 1 hr and a 2hr stress test it passes but when i use a 4hour stress test it fails within the first hour? Clearly the system is unstable and i have to up my volts a bit more but why isnt it lasting atleast the 2 hrs(in a 4hr test) before stopping as it passes a 2hrest. Am i wrong in assuming that the long test is just repeated loops of the shorter tests?

Its happened twice today it passed 1 hr so i bumped it to 4 came back like an hour or so to check on it and the login screen for my computer was sitting there so assume it reset my computer. So i upped the volts, did a 2hr test that it passed and theb ran a 4hr. Went out and when i came back again it was sitting on login screen. Ive setting so my computer doesnt turn off display or sleep and when i logged in all the programmes (real bench and hwinfo and other monitoring software) were closed like it was a fresh restart. It just seems really odd

Maybe more fiddling to be done then just. I had it offset at - 0.03v last night playing fine but decided to run realbench on it today and its failed 4 hours at -0.03 and 0.0125 just seems odd considering the cpu is ryzen 5 1600 and is only overclocked to 3.7. I would have thought it should be stable at lower than stock voltage

I would say that overclocking and undervolting at the same time puts the CPU into the definition of "not stock". So it's not guaranteed to run. Try one then the other, then both maybe?

The cpu max boosts to 3.6 out of the box and usually are over volted out of the box too. Didnt think a nudge to 3.7 was anything major. Im knew to OC so maybe im not right on this?

I was just commenting that while you might see improvements on most chips, ultimately the maker has specified it to be stable within certain parameters. So it's likely there will be some examples where they simply won't perform outside of them.

Lost the lottery

Not necessarily..
Regarding the stock boost, you realise that not all cores boost at once right? Even getting the cpu to all cores oc at 3.6ghz is good as it wouldn't ever do that at normal boost, so you achieving 3.7ghz all core and keeping under 80c on a stress test is pretty good. I'm assuming you're using the stock cooler based on your other post?

Like i said, im new thats why i put i could be wrong lol. Yes using stock cooler which turns out is not whats making all the noise(hence why i wanted to undevolt cpu). Gpu ted devil 580 is blowing like mad. Need to try undervolt it instead its crazy loud

Is the graphics card actually getting hot? Or just has an aggressive fan curve?
Is the cards heatsink dusty?

The gpu is hitting like 78-79 havent really looked into safe temperatures to see if i can jist try adjusting the fan curves so they arent as aggressive at lower temperatures. I have yhr overclock switch on it turned on but tbh turning it back to silent mode would mean a decent hit to my game graphic settings and im only averaging like 75fps on current settings

That switch might just be for the fan mode, so i wouldn't change it to silent if it's hitting 79c. 79c isn't that bad for a graphics card though. Maybe just a clean and improve airflow slightly and it should be fine.

It increases clock speed by 30 mhz or something too i think. At 79 degrees the stock fan speed is already set to like 80% afraid lowering the speed will allow temp to run away
