Hi all,

I have been struggling in games such as PUBG, The Witcher, GTA and BF1. I get a max of 40fps on PUBG with an average of 30. All of my specs are listed below, is there anything that stands out as being not good? Any upgrades/tips would be highly appreciated.

CPU: AMD FX 8300 8core Processor (Black Edition) clock 3.6mhz
GPU: Radeon RX480 8GB
RAM: 24gb DDR3 HyperX Fury
MOBO: Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura
SSD: Samsung EVO 250gb
HDD: 2x 1tb Seagate Barracuda

And 5 Fans and a closed watercooler for CPU.

Temps on my CPU are on average 40-50c
My gpu sometimes gets to around 80c.

Thanks guys.

What are your settings in PUBG?

Im running an R9 380 4gb, i5 2500k and 8 gb ram and im pulling about 40fps.

Everything is low apart from medium AA and high view distance

I don't play PUBG but if it's like most other early access games, it won't be particularly well optimised yet, and will benefit from single core clock speed, could try overclocking your cpu a bit. Your GPU shouldn't be thermal throttling until around 90C, so if it's not reaching 90's it shouldn't be the problem, though 80C on a regular basis even for an AMD card would make me uncomfortable.

you do realize PUBG is an early access and incomplete game dont you? ive not played it myself as i dont know if £19 is worth it, but i did read its an incomplete game and maybe never get finished so it be a rolling beta basically in which case i wouldnt expect that game to optimize well which is another thing i read about.

as for the other games, your FX is getting on abit so maybe that is holding you back somewhat.
