Hi Guys,

I'm about to embark on a new PC Build, but I really can't decide on a pair of monitors, they all have good reviews, but I just can't decide. I hope someone here will be able to help me out!

Here is what I am thinking:

Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP
Samsung SM-245T (Seems Expensive?)
Samsung SM-2493HM

Anything i've missed? I really can't decide between these 3!

Thanks,

V

I am in the same boat. I have decided to wait for the revised Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP which should be out in the next few weeks and is suppose to fix most of the issues with it.
The Samsung SM-2493HM is a TN panel i believe so it won't be as good as either of the other 2 you are looking at. The reviews of the BenQ FP241W 24" are very good but it is out of stock and a little more expensive than the Dell ultrasharp.

I'm also hoping the 2408WFP's manyflaws are fixed by the latest firmware (mid-July?). I'll decide after this time whether to go with the Dell, or choose something else.

I have a 245T, but only because I managed to pick it up for a bargain £340.

It's a great monitor, but I'm not sure it's worth the £500+ that it costs from most sources.

BenQ FP241W 24" t'is good

Got that panel in my OcUK 24" just like many other buyers (cost me £207.11 when i picked it up at the shop, was on offer)

No outs on the value one though

The other current problem with the Dell and Sammy 245T is they have such high input lag it's actually noticeable just in desktop use (moving windows round etc.), made me feel nauseous!

You could also whack the Hazro HZ24WS on there when the new revision launches in July - S-IPS screen (same as in Apple displays and the 30" dell), snazzy design and an all aluminium casing which helps dissipate heat. Only downside is that the stand only does tilt adjustment (no height or swivel), but a double 24" monitor ergotron vesa mount can do all that and more.

I've not noticed any input lag on the desktop whatsoever.

What can be quite annoying, and indeed make one nauseous, is having the 'MPA' feature activated while in the desktop. I've found the MPA to be pretty good for films and games, but extremely irritating for normal desktop use.

Dam! Still confused on what to get!

So what exactly is MPA?

And I think its between the
Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP and Samsung SM-245T

I guess its just a price issue, unless there is something that puts one above the other. I like the design of both, and the specs, just not sure!
