I currently have an asus pch-dl with a pair of xeon 1.6lv chips running at 3G each so cpu performance is well on top of everything i do,
the thing is my graphics are not, i currently have a ati 8500 agp card which is very dated and would like to update it, but after looking at other posts on here about updating agp graphics it seems the nvidia 7800 is the way to go, but the price £200 - £250 for a card that is going to be good for how long ?
im not a huge gamer but when i do play i like it to look good and the system not struggle with it,
But directX 10 is just around the corner ? and im guessing that no one will be making DX10 graphics cards on AGP or does anyone know differant ?
If there are going to be DX10 AGP cards i might hold off for a few months and see what price they come at or what it does to current prices.
My other option is a dual cpu board that will take PCI-E but i dont think they are avaliable for these cpu's (533mhz) i think they all start at 800mhz, and to get these running at 200 fsb first time around needs several boots at differant settings and jumper configs to take them up to that speed, once it is there they are fine but not on a fresh installation into the board,
im not really sure if this is the cpu's or the mobo so they 'might' work straight out at 200 in a differant board,
so buy a 7800 now, wiat for DX10 cards and see what happens, or go hunting for a dual cpu PCI-E board that will take the xeons one way or the other ?
