I was just wondering whether I could use this Memory in this motherboard, my problem is, I'm not sure if the triple channel RAM will work on the Duel Channel board, and I don't want to buy the parts, then realise it doesn't work, and I don't really want to mess about with any BIOS settings or anything.

If all goes to plan, I should have 3x4GB Sticks and 1x2GB stick running on the system, on a x64-bit OS.

If it doesn't work, I'll just get the Corsair XMS3 ^_^

Thanks guys,

Nick

Okay, so without the 1x2GB stick, which isn't really needed with the 12GB that would be in there, if it was to run two sticks at duel, and one single, would it still work well?

The PC wouldn't work as well as it could because you've reduced the memory bandwidth.

And unless someone can tell you for certain that it will run as 2 sticks in dual channel and 1 stick in single channel I'd work on the basis that you'll end up with 3 sticks in single channel.

Getting 8GB (2x4GB) for around £50 would be simpler (if slightly more expensive per GB) and definately work in dual channel mode.

Alright, thanks. I'll see what 8GB kits there are next Wednesday when I can order them,

Thanks all.
