Hey,

I've just got some new cards so obviously i've been watching benchmark youtube videos etc. They all play crysis, and actually watching it, it looks like a really good game.
So, i've gone to buy it and I see different versions.
Crysis,
Crysis Warhead.

I'm going to guess Warhead is newer, with the title.
Is it an expansion? Is it a standalone game? Is it Crysis with some new addons or, a totally different title?

I don't want to buy Crysis, then Crysis warhead and find it's the same with a couple of new levels or something, so would love your advice!

Warhead is a standalone game that runs alongside Crysis from another protagonist's perspective, it has a slightly different look artistically and is quite a bit shorter

I believe Crysis Warhead is a stand-alone expansion game and does not require Crysis installed to play.

As for whether it is worth it, why not check up the critic and user reviews on metacritic for both games?

These were both I believe in the Steam Xmas Sale last year, so there is a good chance of discounts this year too. You may want to hold off buying them for a few days unless you get a very good deal.

Warhead plays at a quicker pace with lots of action, but the plot is pretty weak, and you play the part of 'Psycho' - imagine an even dimmer version of Jason Statham on crack. Still worth a play though if you enjoyed Crysis.

To be fair, he is called Psycho . Im sure Stuart Pearce would shrug off a surprise ice age with similar aplomb

Crysis looks a tiny bit better than Warhead, but warhead runs a fair bit faster, especially in action scenes. Warhead feels more linear than Crysis, but has bigger epic fights and battles. They are both good, but I think playing the original first makes sence, especially from the plot perspective.

Crysis is a better game if nothing else due to the fact that it last longer, Warhead is done and dusted in around 4hrs (and arguably it was priced as such on launch, but nowadays Crysis can be had cheaply too).

Both very good games and really challenging on the harder difficulty settings. I've played through both now numerous times on hard but never got anywhere decent on the delta setting (hardest) lol.

Might play through them AGAIN over this christmas break, making it atleast the 8th time I've done so :)
