With the spec in sig i'm only managing 8500 3dmarks on vista x64. looking at the 3dmark thread, even 8800gts 320 are scoring higher by 2000 points!
what is it im doing wrong?

thanks

Not getting off to a good start with this 2900 are you. Have you checked you have no options enabled in the CCC everything disabled etc. The score does seem very low.

something must be wrong, because im getting 8854 with only 2 2600xt..

what drivers u using? use cpu-z to make sure the card is running at x16

Lol no it hasnt been a good start. Will havin options forced in CCC affect 3dmark then? i got things like AF etc forced, didnt know they came into effect in 3dmark.
I'll try that cpu-z thing now, i hate troubleshooting!!!

Yes they will! The drivers force these settings over any game in game settings and 3DMark! Change your settings to application controlled for things like AA and AF.

Sorry to interrupt but i am only getting a score of 9691 in 3D mark 06 with everyting in ccc turned off.
My system is

Windows vista 64
Asus Commando motherboard
E6600 @ 3.6
4GB OCZ (4 X 1GB) PC2 4600 Dual Channel Platinum Revision RAM
ATI 2900XT 1024MB

But the strange thing is that when i only had 2GB of Ram my 3d mark score was about 11000.

Why has my score droped since installing an extra 2GB of ram??

Tom quick question, i used ATI tray tools to try and overclock the card, and i used the auto thing to find highest core, and within 5 seconds it BSOD on me. Whys it doing this to me? This card seems to be more trouble than its worth tbh

Can't blame the card on the problems your having oc'ing with a 3rd party clocking tool. Also AFAIK Tray Tools doesn't support the R600.
