Really need a new card!

I have just purchased AOC (conan) howver my 8400 gs 256mb really doesn't cut it even with all gfx low it's unplayable 25-10fps in the jungle and in a tavern it hit 5 fps and it looks just terrible.

I really want to get into this game and the new ati cards are only 3 weeks away or so. However i'm really impatient and was wondering if i bought a 8800 GT for just over £100 (OC value card) would it be able to play AOC well? and would it go for say £80 on a certain aution site in around 2 months when i would be looking to upgrade to a 4870?

Being honest with the release being just over 2 weeks away for the new Ati 4870's i would wait a £30+ loss for using a card for a couple of weeks is just not a sensible move in my opinion

You could well grab one now, since you can't even play the game then grab a new one in a few months... really depends on how desperate you are and if you feel you can't wait TBH.

BUT, I would recommend you remove the swear word. Any and all swearing is banned on this forum

I'm sure once the 280/4870's are out, people won't be saying wait for the next new cards ...

There are certain times when it is worth waiting for new hardware, and now is one of them.

While that is true, literally entire new hard ware is coming out in a few weeks, we aren't talking of in 3 months time, more like 3 weeks or less

I know it is best to wait but i have a 8400 gs not a 8800 GT and trust me it's frustrating, Is anyone by any chance selling a 8800 GT or a 3870 ?

Just found a 3870 on a rival website for £89.91 soo im guna take advantage of that amazing price,

Well you could buy that 8800GT now but if the new ATI cards are faster then it will drive down the prices of these cards to compete better on the midrange. You will then get less in return for the sale of the 8800GT and you mentioned this in the opening post.

There's been a few times when I've bought and regretted it. Make sure you don't do the same.

You need to be here for 3 months or have 250 posts to see the members market. Otherwise there is no selling permitted sorry. Maybe have a look on the bay of e and see what you can see.
