Really need some help with PunkBuster

Okay so i bought BFBC2 and i cant play it online, after about a minute or even less im getting kicked out by Punkbuster, now i have tried to install the newest version manually, re-installed the game and rebooted my PC and i cant figure out what to do.
The exact message is-
"This PB server requires (a1382 c2.261) error loading pbcl"

If anyone can help i would really appreciate it as i bought this game purely for online play.
 
I have allowed punkbuster through firewall and have done that punkbuster setup and update, still have this issue, tried to google it but so far the two suggestions you guys have said are all i could find too :-(
 
I just bought BFBC2 and had this exact same problem. I tried a few different servers and it was always the same error message. This is how I fixed it.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Systems and Security. Under Windows firewall there is a link that says Allow a Program Through Windows Firewall. Click this button and scroll down to the "P's". You should see two abbreviated punkbuster names. Now on my PC there is a box that is click to allow for the home network as well as the public network. For me only the home network box was checked, so I clicked the public network box for both of the punkbuster names and exited. I loaded the game up and played for about an hour and never got the message once.

done this, did not cure the problem.
Done loads of manual updates of punkbuster.

Nothing seems to work, why is it so damn difficult to play a game online
 
I used the punkbuster update app (choose Bad company 2 directory) rebooted and it worked, not sure why this isn't working for you
 
Welcome to the joys of Punkbuster - a poor product with a poor name and website.

This is why the VAC + admin/votekick/voteban combo is so good.
 
Have you tried updating the game itself? BFBC2updater.exe in the BC2 folder.

Dunno if that would fix the prob. (but be prepared to be seeing the new year in by the time it downloads (2012) it takes a while)
