how the hell do i get the side panel back on....

You have to hold it to the case and then push it forward and it will fall into the runners, then you just flick the clip on the back to lock it in if that makes sense.

Dont think there are any threads specially for the case im afraid, you may find some threads people have posted through the search function

i may try lying it flat on its other side rather than standing up

also need to get myself a new cooler as it came with the stock one, got any suggestions?

Im guessing you mean CPU cooler? I have tuniq tower and it keeps my q6600 nice and cool and the case has loads of room for it. Can even remove the motherboard tray with it on easily.
