Really Odd PC problem

Tryin fix someones pc, no matter what gfx card in it (agp/pci/any brand), doesn't display anything other than bios (which displays fine) Trying to reinstall windows the display goes blank when its going to the setup screen. Trying to boot off the old install, again goes blank

Spec:

A64 3000+ venice
Epox NF3 ultra
AGP 6800GT (tried loads of other diff cards as well, pci/agp)
1 gig corsair 2-2-2-5t
40gb hd
2x optical drives
485watt enermax

Sound like it maybe psu issue or cpu not seated properly

Cpu ? thats definently in,, psu seems to be fine.........oh update, just changed the HD and seems to be now working :confused:

no no its back again

Just clean installed windows, tried to update the chipset drivers to Nforce 3 nvidia ones, crashed, rebooted,now get black screen again on reboot (after bios)

EDIT: Now its just booted fine :confused:

sounds like a ram problem.
