Really odd problem - CPU needs pressure to work.

I work in a gaming cafe, 40 pcs. 1 of these machines randomly doesn't give a post beep and gives no display. But if i apply pressure to the cooler, pushing down on it, it starts, and will start two or three times before the problem comes back.

I've swapped this cpu to a motherboard that was working fine, thinking its the skt775 pins on the motherboard thats faulty, and the system developed the same fault after the 2nd restart. How can this be as the cpu has no pins? Is the processor actually faulty?

Probably a dry joint somewhere round the cpu socket. The pressure you apply probably bends the mainboard back enough to make a connection again, but over time it bands back and the dry joint opens again.
