Hmm , looking to surprise someone on their birthday with a small gift inside a packet of their favourite crisps.

Just wondering if anyone knows if these crisp packets ( skips ) can be re-sealed somehow?. ( i.e heat sealed etc )

Weird question I know, but thanks in advance

one way to find out, try it yourself, get some packets of crisps and some heat guns, soldering irons etc. but be careful.

oh and hiding something in a packet of crisps is a terrible idea btw

Two big pieces of wood, crisp bag between them just leaving the top 5mm exposed. Then pass a blow torch of something over it quite quickly at a distance to fuse the sides together.

Warning, incorrect use of this procedure may result in loss of hair, eyebrows, crisps, wood, house and loved ones.

I would say your best bet would be clamping the top edge of the bag together and then heating with a heat gun (which is basically a hair dryer but hotter). Alternatively, you could try a weak glue like prit stick, but be careful to only get glue on the bits of the bag that will stick together so that no glue goes on the crisps.

If you know any electronics people who are into soldering etc, they might have a heat gun, or if not a close up hairdryer might just be hot enough.

Ask someone in a small supermarket to do it

I sealed stranger stuff than that when i worked at iceland (dont ask [really!] )

the gift's going to be all salty and smells like onion, depends on the flavor

don't over do the heat sealing otherwise it'll make the crisps taste all funny

lol.. jesus, was expecting around 1 or 2 replies. All points noted especially the 'off-topic' one. (DOH)

It's not an engagement ring..lol. It's for my 10 year old brother. I was planning to put some money in it. Maybe the idea is a little 'rubbish' in hindsight.
