Hi,

Just looking at Intel Quad Cores and the 6600 runs at 1066 but the newer 9300 runs at 1333.

But DDR2 ram normally peaks at about 1066 so does that mean getting the 9300 I'd have to clock the RAM down ?

Thanks !

at default the 9300 runs with an fsb of 333, so the pc6400 running at 400fsb would have to be underclocked a bit, and the 1066 (500fsb pc8500) a bit more.

You've got your FSB and RAM speeds totally confused.

Yes, the Q6600 runs with a default 1066 FSB... but this is quad pumped (4*266).

You would only need 533 MHz PC4200 DDR2 RAM (2*266) to accomodate this FSB.
