i've been using 750w power supply for several months which i bought when i built my new system. i didn't do any research on it because i was in a hurry and desperate get it quickly. i paid almost £100 but it always produced stand by noise when my computer was shut off. i was kind of ****ed off but decided to live with for a while. now its bothering a lot so i'm looking for new 800w power supply that is really silent. can anyone recommend me one?

The zalman heatpipe PSUs are really quiet based on reviews and such.

From experience the Corsairs are great, my 650W has never been audible and thats in a fully watercooled PC with just 4 120mm fans at about 900RPM or lower (barely enough power for them to spin when the PC turns on).

sajtion - what is the rest of your computer specification? Chances are you don't need anything need 750W and will save you money and get you better / quieter PSU.

Corsair HX series has always been amazing.
Be Quiets are meant to live up to their name.
Silverstone do their 450W passive, but a gaming rig would be pushing that.
As Geckovich said - the Zalman passives are good, but they do get noiser as you push them and get louder than others at similar levels.
If you can afford a Tagan, well you get what you pay for.
