Really Simple Question

Check out this link which describes the difference between the two. But basically DVI-D is only digital signals, where as DVI-I is digital and analog.

You can't use a DVI-I cable with a DVI-D port but you can the other way round, so basically if you buy a DVI-D cable, everything should work.

And there's always the HDMI cable if necessary.

Also, just as a heads up, for £10 more you can get the E2407HDSD which is exactly the same except has a contrast ratio of 60000:1 rather than 20000:1 in the model you have linked.

EDIT: Well the one I linked to has been discontinued so ignore that! lol

I would save the £10 to be honest - Dynamic contrast ratio is basically just a made up figure with this type of monitor. The only type of monitors where this number means anything is on full-array LED backlit monitors and plasmas, however these are not widely availble in the PC monitor market.

In comaprison, the static contrast ratio is worth looking at, and for both of these monitors it is the same at 1000:1.

For all other specifications the two monitors are basically the same, the main difference is the casings and stands are different.

Oh cool! Didn't know that. I was shopping for my TV not so long ago and just assumed it would be the same for monitors too. Always happy to be proven wrong and learn something new though :p
