Really slow boot into Windows?

Ive just recently got my new build up and running. Specs are i52500k, asrock xtreme4 gen3, 8gb ram, 5850 gfx card and 1tb samsung.

The install is pretty new...only programs on it are firefox, updated drivers and windows stuff. Thats it. Yet booting into windows on Startup is taking in the region of 1min 20 secs or slow. For a fresh build on that kinda hardware that seems quite slow to me :/

Is it slow, or am I just being very impatient with my pc? And if it is slow, any ideas on how I can speed things up? And advice appreciated :)

If it's a Samsung F3 then that is a bit slow.

Go to msconfig and under startup remove programmes that aren't need to start up on boot.

Can go to task manager and see whats running.

Ive changed some stuff in the msconfig startup. Right now I only have Realtek Audio manager, Intel(r) common user interface, logitech setpoint, windows live messenger, catalyst control centre, avast, powereg and cfosspeed windows selected.

60 processes running in task manager. And yeah it is an F3. Im sure its something to do with 1 of the Windows updates. Was booting a lot quicker till I installed the updates.

Have you tried uninstalling the updates and seeing if it was them that slowed you down??? Worth a try.. You may be able to google the updates that were recently applied and see if there are any known problems..

I have the same problem.... Since upgrading about a month ago (i5 2500k, asus p8z68pro, 8gb ram, 560ti, wd blue 500gb) Windows seems to take longer to load than it did before with my old system (e6600, asus p5n-e, 2gb ram, 8800gts).

Did a fresh install of windows and have still got 410gb of hard disk space and only a few programs running on startup. Just seems abit weird, if anyone has any solutions would be interesting to hear them.

Have you tried unplugging all your USB devices? Occasionally one of them can cause a slow boot time, for example my old Steelseries mouse would add 15+ seconds onto my boot time if plugged in for some reason.
