Really slow gigabit performance on VMWare ESXi 3.5 U2 Guest

I've setup a Windows XP Pro SP3 guest and installed VMTools etc.

But I can't get gigabit speeds transferring files from another server to the VM. Both host servers are connected via the same Netgear gigabit switch and have no performance issues outside the VMs.

I've also tried XenServer Express and have the same issues.

My ESXi server is a hp ProLiant ML110 G5. The XP vm says it's connected at '1.0 Gbps' but I'm only getting sub 100mbps speeds.

Anyone else had these issues, thanks. :confused:

When you setup the Network for the VM,what did you setup the Network Interface type as. ie, vmxnet, flexible, lance etc.

I configured the network as VMXNet with VMWare Tools installed.

OK setup the machine as Flexible for the type of network interface and you should see improved performance.
