really slow windows 7 install

just installing windows 7 64 and it is going really really slow. i am doing it via USB and was copied on there on a 32 bit vista, would this make a difference?

now going to try it with 86x version though it is a i7 920.

would copying windows 64x on to usb FROM a 86x version of vista have anything to do with it?

oh yeah it said irql(?) not less or equal if this helps anyone come to a conclusion. my ram has been put in slots 1, 2 and 3, id this right?

run memtest on your machine. try installing with your machine at stock clocks if it's overclocked.
 
going to be indtalling it from dvd now. managed to install x86 fine howver one of my ram sticks are faulty, checked them all one by one. thanks again
