Really strange on COD Black Ops?

I'm level 35 on COD Black ops (Xbox 360) and I do not play it much. I just joined a random matchmaked game and I think it's a hacked server. Everyone has a really high score and I keep seem to be ranking up lots?

Is this a hacked server?

I quit half way through and I was about level 42. Am I going to get Live banned for this now? I did not intentionally join the server and didn't even realise what was happening at first.

No dude, you won't get banned. The person hosting the lobby had a JTAGed 360, allowing them to modify the XP value given to things such as kills, as such, your XP will go up faster.

The person who hosted the lobby might get banned, but you won't.

Ah I see. Good to know!! It's put me off playing it now that I know people can level up so fast with so little effort though!

I doubt it was a modded lobby on Black Ops AFAIK all things like that are server side now.

I don't think it's any different to MW2. This has just happened to me in MW2 an made an absolute mockery of my Legit 9th Presitige I was match made into a game shot one person and a stupid number came up so I left and it took me from 43.8 to level 70 it now says -810XXX XP to the 10th Prestige which I never intended to go to.

I'm now faced with staring at hacked stats or losing all my stuff which I thought would never happen again and doing the 10th which I hate since it's the emblem of Haxx :mad:

Thankfully after playing a game it now says 0 XP to 10th Prestige, but my scores are permanently corrupted upwards. I don't know who was hosting, invited or caught out like me, but one guy had a dodgy JTAG hinting name and seemed to be the only one in a party so I went for him and logged the other 11 players.
