Hi,
So I'm at a total loss right now... I was putting the finishing touches to a side system I'm building and everything was working absolutely perfectly. The system was fully built, running great and booted up within Windows... I started the installation for the latest Nvidia drivers and suddenly my screen goes black.
This is pretty normal when installing graphics drivers and I figured it would come back on within a few seconds, but no, nothing. Waiting a few minutes and it was clear nothing was happening so I shut down the system.
Then when I went to start it back up nothing happened. It was totally dead. I tried the onboard graphics instead of dedicated, but nothing. Tried resetting the memory, the graphics card, the PSU cable, nothing. In fact the only thing that would give the fans power was taking out the reset CMOS jumper, but even then it was just the dreaded power on no boot thing.
I really don't know what to do. This was meant to be a Christmas present for a family member and now the damn thing won't even switch on. Any clue as to what this could be?
The specs are pretty simple, it's an ASROCK H81M-ITX motherboard and an ASUS GeForce GTX 1050. Nothing crazy. The CPU is an i7-4770K which I had laying about from a previous machine. Also it's connected to my monitor via HDMI.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
