Well it started off with your usual artifacts and lines across screen while I was gaming, which meant another graphics card bit the dust (I know the syptoms now, this was my third graphics card in about 8 months). It was still booting and you could do non GPU heavy tasks like browse the web but it died eventually. My parent tried switching on a few times since to check their email and it then stopped booting, the screen wouldn't even switch on just stay in standby while the PC would just have the fans in it spin.
I then got another graphics card from the MM (X800 Pro) and it wouldn't boot with that. I took 2 Ram sticks out (leaving just 1x512 module in) and voila, it's booting (never had problems with the memory though). It wouldnt boot in normal mode after, only safe mode. I tried then booting into normal mode after safe mode and it just reseted the PC (thing to note is that when I was in safe mode X800Pro driver was installed, however, the PC was running on unknown device when I right clicked the desktop and tried checking the driver information) . After that the thing wouldn't boot anymore in any mode.
So I dug out my Win XP disc and just went for a full monty reinstall and HD wipe. The thing started to BSOD then on me (050, 024, 01A and 04E which is a new one). I googled them and most of them suggest "your new hardware/software may cause this". I did eventually got past the initial screens and got into the setup. When instlling devices it suddenly started firing off "DiskDrive", "CD-Rom" and "Battery" devices could not be installed. In the end it would then say that following devices (which was "System") were not installed. Then again it would get past BIOS screen and then simply restart before the Windows screen. I reinstalled and repaired the Windows XP now 4-5 times to no avail.
I also bought a new HD since and that did not help matters, get the same thing. So here I am now having a PC that just either restarts or gives me BSOD. The specs are:
Win XP Pro
2800+ Barton
Abit NF7S - V2
1.5GB of Crucial RAM
Currently X800Pro and it was 9800Pro that went
Any ideas would be appreciated now.
Thanks
