I've posted this in here as I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going wrong with my machine. Its been going on for a while but progressively getting worse.
When I boot up my machine normally (e6600 @ 3GHz, 2Gb ram, Asus P5B 2001 Bios, 8800GT (stock), 550w Antec Trupower, Vista 32bit) I will get one of the following problems:
1: Windows boots, but my usb mouse is not recognized forcing me to shutdown or restart with keyboard(have tried with 3 different mice and problem replicated on each one).
2: Hard drives (SATA2) are not recognised by bios producing "incorrect boot device" message after memcheck screen is done.
This used to be a sporadic error - 2 times out of 3 I'd be able to boot into Windows without issue, but of late its been getting more and more regular. The most reliable way I've found to combat this is by flicking the PSU switch to off for 10 secs or so and then turning it on again, which generally results in a "clean" boot.
My guess its either motherboard or power related but really not too sure! Any pointers gratefully appreciated.
*edit* I should add that once I've got it to boot properly its 100% stable
