Hi,

Specs:

AMD X2 5000+
8800GT BFG OC 512MB
2GB Geil 800mhz RAM
160GB HDD
MSI K9 Mainboard
BT HomeHub

Problem:

Everything was fine, playing cod4 and on xfire. Then my net connection dropped.

Now when i load up my pc i have a 'Network Cable is Unplugged' logo on system tray.

The homehub is on and working, and i have tried the net lead in my laptop and thats fine, so it aint the net or cables.

The network apparently unplugged is 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller' and i now have '1394 Connection' which is connected and firewalled. Not seen this before.

My net won't work and i dunno wtf has happened. Any help or advice much appreciated :x

PS. The unplugged icon says 'Local Area Connection 3' :x

The BT home hub automatically checks and downloads firmware updates at about 3.00 am and recently there has been a new firmware update. Since this new update mine is crashing all the time and acting up like yours. Unplug your router and let it reboot normally sorts mine out.

"1394 Connection" is your Firewire ports.
What happens if you connect the two machines together directly? They should both change to saying they're connected.
