Really Weird problem with media pc

I have just built my media pc rig which is the spec below and for some reason as soon as it hits the user login screen the system seems very slow, so slow in fact that the mouse is very irratic and eventually does not move at all, It is a new install of windows xp media center 2005, no other software has been installed, The stranger thing is that everything works fine when i boot into safe mode with networking.

This would indicate to me that it has to be a driver porblem or software fault, It still happeds when i set it to diagnostic startup in msconfig, Anyone had this problem?

When you open the task manager are there any processes using 100% CPU?
If so, what?

It doesnt look like it but when it slows right down it might also slow down the polling of the task manager so wouldnt show up.

o.k. now sorted, It seems that it was the soundblaster card causing the problems, I will have to remove it completely from the system as creative do not have a specific driver for media center 2005, It works fine in xp pro though.

Strange?
