Interesting, no use to me since I bought a Xonar but an intriguing development none-the-less:

Missed this when it was pointed out. Can't afford a Xonar at the moment so I'll probably give it a try. It's only linked through Realtek HD downloads page so my hopes for my onboard ALC850 aren't that high.

Edit: Judging by screenshots, it's a wrapper - like alchemy - rather than integrated into drivers like on Xonar.
