Realtek ALC850 vs VideoLogic SonicFury

I am just upgrading my machine and I have a choice of audio solutions.

My MoBo (Asus A8N-E) has an onboard Realtek ALC850 7.1 sound processor.

My old machine had a SonicFury 5.1 sound card, which is quite old and was made by Turtle Beach when I bought it years ago.

I'm not an audiophile and sound only features in games for me. I have stereo speakers though I may upgrade at some distant point in the future.

Is the newer Realtek ALC850 better than the SonicFury?

The onboard will be fine..the wife's machine has that mobo and the sounds in games and windows are indistinguishable from my audigy 1.
