does anyone know if there's a seperate download for an equaliser for the realtek hd onboard sound cards? ever since i installed my new bits i've messed around with about 25 different hd audio drivers, and all are useless beacause none of them have a god damn equaliser.

it has a list of pre-set crap. I need to be able to tweak it myself... On the realtek webby i saw a picture of a graphical equaliser, and it looked new & improved from the one on my old 939 board.

but I can't find it anywhere, anyone know where to get one, if there is one.

It should be in Control Panel>Realtek HD Sound Manager. That's where mine is. It has a load of presets but you can also change them and save your own settings. I am on driver version 5.10.0.5464 dated 10/08/2007.

I have no equaliser, I tried the latest beta drivers, the ones that came with the mobo, the azalia ones, I haven't had an equaliser in any driver installation, I've checked every time.

my driver version currently is 6.0.1.5497.

in sound manager I have 3 tabs at the top.

Speakers/Digital Output/Digital Input

then below that 4 tabs, speaker config, sound effects, room correction, default format.

there is an equaliser, but it just has 4 buttons, Pop, Club, Jazz etc... and a drop down box with a list of about 20.

But there is no slider thingy like with my last realtek onboard sound, just theese... **** preset buttons.

Windows XP Sp2. Realtek HD Audio driver v1.84 (5.10.0.5532) on a DS4 motherboard.

Double click the orange Realtek icon in the taskbar to see -

Yeah, thats the picture I saw on the PDF on the realtek website. I'm currently using 1.84 drivers, and windows vista, but a different operating system, surely wouldn't add or remove the equaliser would it?

Unless of course there's a button somewhere that I am overlooking, but I am quite competant with the programs in a pc, ie finding stuff and searching through help, basically every help file I've read tells me I should have an equaliser.

my uncle has a Gigabyte P35 DS3, and even he has a bloody equaliser, which came with the azalia driver from the Gigabyte webby, I tried the driver on the mainboard Driver CD, I tried Azalia, latest beta linked via Tweakguides.com.

the only thing I can think of, is that, if the auto installed drivers that vista installs as soon as it recognises the sound card, somehow has an equaliser that overwrites the usage of... the equaliser you guys have from the official drivers, ie 1.80, 1.84 Azalia etc...

anyway, perhaps this will give you some indication as to what is happening, I was using Vista on my old realtek ac97 and I had the equaliser on that too.

I'd screen my poor exscuse for an equaliser if I knew how.

One of the main reasons I switched back to XP - The Realtek drivers for Vista just aren't up to scratch compared to the same revision drivers for XP

ah ********, The realtek 970 from my old 939 had a graphical bar equaliser with Vista, i guess they couldn't be arsed to include one for HD...
