Is this similar to the KX drivers where you could get lower latency in music apps?

Not sure!, but these are very good drivers sound as good as the xfi too!

1) If you've got the dolby digital software that came with the realtek HD software uninstall it
1b) Install/Unpack the realtek mod software to a temporary directory
2) Run Setup.exe in the unpacked folder, If you already have realtek drivers let it uninstall them and reboot the system
3) Run the Creative X-Fi.exe file extract it to your realtek unpacked temporary folder from step 1b
4) Enter Creative X-Fi folder and click on setup to install ( you might need to reboot )
5) Run the Run.bat file in the activation folder

Installed it on my Acer Aspire 5553G laptop, and wow... I'm amazed... The sound quality has definitely improved!!! Ever since I tried my friend's soundcard with my headphones I started to notice the differences between my devices, with my Xperia providing better sound than both my PCs. But this, now my laptop really brings my music to life :D Thanks for the link!

Not going to install it on my desktop as I have the Xonar DX arriving soon for it, but now I'm going to suggest this to my friends :).

Thanks, I'll give these drivers a go.

I'm using optical digital out on my motherboard into an outboard DAC so I want as little processing of the signal as possible.

As i was getting so much crackling on my system with this mod, no idea why

I'm now using the Realtek HD Audio Driver R2.67 from this mod pack (not the creative software) however I'm also using the Dolby Home Theatre V4.0 software. Very happy :D

Is this with the modded drivers itself and/or the Creative X-Fi software? Only installed the drivers as I heard the X-Fi software was rubbish.

Went on Skype the other day with it, and everyone heard really loud static from my microphone. Returned to the original Realtek drivers and now the static noise is gone. Guess everyone gets different results with these...
