Hey all.
I have GA-P35-DS3R motherboard with an onboard Realtek RTL8168/8111 Gigabit NIC. For some reason, Windows keeps claiming that the 'network cable is unplugged' when it is connected to my router. I have tested my router, it works perfectly fine for my laptop (both over LAN and WLAN), I have tried all of the ports and even tried a replacement network cable. For some reason, it will not work on my PC at all, even with different cables and ports.
So I think there is something going on with the NIC itself. I have uninstalled it and updated it to the latest drivers, and still no dice. I have checked in my BIOS, it is defiantly enabled yet the SMART LAN testing thing claims the cable is 0m long. The light on the NIC does not light up either, which it usually does do.
The odd thing is, everything was working perfectly fine yesterday, but when I came to use it today, it wasn't having any of it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have already tired updating my BIOS, but it didnt seem to want to work for some reason. I have only had this motherboard from OC since last summer, so it's not exactly old.
Help?
Cheers, Jamie.
EDIT: Ok, after been left turned off for a good hour, I turned it back on again and it has spontaneously started working again... Haven't got a clue what caused it.
