Realtek sound problem

my brother is having issues with corrupted sound only in gta v other games fine.. hes using the onboard sound on asrock z97 anniversary, Realtek.

we have reformatted checked bios, updated drivers, still doesnt work... would adding a soundblaster audigy or asus sonar fix this.. the sound does work via HDMI using the NVIDIA sound, but bizarrly the TV doesnt have a great picture over HDMI..

any ideas ..

There might be a workaround for HDMI to TV - look in the TV settings for an option to change input to something else that will provide better picture quality. The issue could be that it's not automatically recognizing the source is a PC.

As for the general sound issue otherwise, I don't know.

it was a cheap tv/monitor. there is no game mode/ pc mode
