Hi there, I realise this is probably a minor detail and haven't been able to find a conclusive answer, but since I have 2 ethernet options on my motherboard (Asus P5K Premium). I was wondering if one is superior to the other in any way at all. Even if its a minor difference I don't mind as it's something for nothing as far as I'm concerned :P.

Any opinions on this would be much appreciated, using the realtek one at the moment.

Not really anythig between them. Marvel Yukon has some virtual cable testing software on my P5b whereas realtek don't tend to bundle things. IT's much of a muchness tbh.

You tend to find Marvel Yukon on more high end boards and Realtek (Via) chips on bottom of the barrel gear. On that basis I would say the Marvel chipset is better.

In practice there is probably nothing in it.

Thanks for clarifying, I noticed marginally better pings on the Marvell, maybe I'm hallucinating or something but I'll stick with that. =)
